About Cavachon Temperament, Behavior and Personality

The temperament and behavior of the Cavachon breed is friendly and playful.

They get along well with children. These dogs are loyal and form strong bonds with family, particularly with one member, and they make great family pets.

Cavachon Colors

Cavachons come in a wide range of colors including white, apricot, black, and tan. The Bichon Frise is a solid-white dog while the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel is typically white and tan or white and apricot. Many Cavachons have mostly white coats with black, tan, or apricot markings. This hybrid is also considered to be hypoallergenic.

Cavachon Average Size

Full grown cavachons typically weigh between 15 and 18 lbs.

Cavachon Litter Size

Cavachon litters vary greatly in size, often anywhere from 1-6 puppies.

Cavachon Life Span

The average life expectancy of the Cavachon breed is between 13 and 17 years, longer than average for small breeds.

About Cavachon Health

Cavachons are considered to be healthier than its pure bred parents, Cavachons tend to have typical small dog breeds health concerns.  They have a tendency for ear infections from hair that grows inside of their ears, making regular ear cleaning important.  They also are prone to skin problems, flea bite sensitivity, heart issues and hip dysplasis.
